Kit Features & Gimmicks[]

Articulation[]

  • The head can swivel/tilt on a ball-and-socket/hinge neck joint.
  • The torso can tilt frontwards/backwards.
  • Shoulder joints can pull out and swing frontwards or raise upwards.
  • The arms can swing and/or raise horizontally on an integrated shoulder frame.
    • Shoulder armor parts can move independently to avoid interference with the upward arm articulation.
  • The upper arms can rotate.
  • Arms and Legs feature double-jointed elbow/knee parts.
  • The manipulators...
    • Can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
    • Feature 3+1+1 articulation on the poseable fingers.
  • The waist can rotate 360 degrees.
  • Front, side, and rear skirt armors can lift up to avoid interference with the leg articulation.
  • The hip joint axis can tilt forward. (This position can be locked with the front crotch piece.)
  • The upper thighs can swing on a peg-and-socket joint, raise horizontally, and/or rotate on each piece.
  • The ankle joints can pivot, or tilt sideways in some extent.
  • The wings are jointed, allowing some articulation.

Weapons & Other Gimmicks[]

  • The hands are swappable.
  • Each weapon must be wielded by their own respective hand parts.
  • Cockpit hatch can be opened/closed.
  • Dragoons on the backpack can be detached and displayed separately (requires separate display arms/bases, See Tips & Tricks).
  • Dragoon construction on the backpack allows each to be opened/closed.
  • Beam Rifles can be combined.
  • The Beam Rifles' handles can be folded and can be stored on the side of the waist frame. The rear waist armor needs be pulled down and then, the side waist armor/railgun construction needs to be swung to the back to accommodate this gimmick.
  • Beam Sabers can be coupled to form a dual Beam Saber.
  • An effect part can be attached to the forearm to replicate the Beam Shield being deployed.
  • The upper shoulder armor piece can slide up to reveal inner frame.
  • Strike Freedom can be mounted on an Action Base using the provided adapter.

Tips and Tricks[]

  • For better results, some of the details are needed to be applied/panel-lined with Gundam Markers and/or Mr. Color paints.
  • Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied decals. (Water-based topcoat is recommended due to the kit having PP parts)
    • If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the clear/translucent parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.
  • Take note that it's highly inadvisable to paint the inner frame with enamel, alcohol-based, and lacquer paint, as they can potentially damage the ABS and PP parts.

Customizing-based tips[]

  • The RG Strike Freedom "Wings of the Sky" Effect (P-Bandai exclusive) is compatible with this kit to display the DRAGOONs deployed.
  • The High Grade Meteor Unit (included in HGGS no. 16 or sold separately as a P-Bandai exclusive) is compatible with this kit.

Variants[]

Italicized item(s) are exclusives.

Reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo. Later reprints from mid-2022 will also feature an additional Bandai Namco logo.
