Kit Features & Gimmicks[]

Articulation[]

  • The head can swivel/tilt.
  • The upper torso can slightly tilt forwards without interfering with the Core Splendor.
  • Due to being used for transformation, the shoulder joints can raise up for extra upwards articulation.
    • Shoulder joints can also push forward or backwards.
    • The upper section of the shoulder armor can slightly lift up to avoid interference with the protruding panel on the shoulders.
  • The arms can swing on an integrated peg-and-socket shoulder frame, or raise horizontally.
  • The upper arms can rotate.
  • Lower forearms can twist.
  • Arms and legs feature double-jointed elbow/knee parts.
  • The manipulators can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
  • The waist has somewhat limited swivel left or right due to the interference of the skirt armor panels.
  • Front, side, and rear skirt armors are poseable via ball joints, to avoid interference with the leg articulation.
  • The hip axis joint can be pulled down for additional hip articulation.
  • The upper thigh joints can swing frontward/backwards on a peg-and-socket joint, raise horizontally, and/or rotate on each piece.
  • The ankles can tilt and/or pivot.
  • Due to being used for transformation, the front toes can pivot.

Weapons/Other Gimmicks[]

  • The hands are swappable.
  • Each of the weapons must be wielded by their own respective hand parts.
  • Cockpit hatch can be opened.
  • Anti-Armor Knives can be optionally removed from the side waist racks as handheld weapons.
    • Anti-Armor Knives are foldable.
  • Impulse's main body can separate into Chest & Leg Flyers, and the Core Splendor.
    • Core Splendor is fully transformable.
      • The Core Splendor's cockpit can be opened.
      • The Missile Launchers can attach onto/be removed from the wings.
      • The three landing gear parts can attach to the bottom.
    • Chest & Leg Flyers can be displayed with an Action Base (sold separately) via the adapters.
  • The shield can convert into default and expanded states.
  • Beam Rifle's scope and foregrip can both swivel left and right.
    • Beam Rifle can be stored onto the rear waist via a flip-out tab.
  • The Prototype Advanced Railgun's foregrip can flip out.
    • The Prototype Advanced Railgun can also mount onto the rear waist via a flip-out tab.
  • Blast Silhouette pack can attach to/detach from the Impulse.
    • Silhouette Flyer can mount onto the Silhouette pack.
    • High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannons & Hyper-Velocity Rail Cannons can wedge/flip out to form firing mode.
      • When not in cannon mode, the Beam Cannons' rear end/Quadruple Missile Launchers can flip up to face frontwards.
    • The panels on the Long-Range Beam Cannons can be optionally opened to reveal Beam Javelin hilts, where they can be removed as handheld weapons.
      • The beam effects can attach to the hilts.
      • The hilts can also be combined to form a large double-ended weapon.
  • Blast/Impulse (or its components) or the Blast Silhouette can mount onto any Action Bases via their respective adapters.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • For better results, some of the details are needed to be applied with Gundam Markers or Mr. Color paints.
  • Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied decals and if any, painted details.
    • If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the clear/translucent parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.
  • Exercise caution while handling the V-fins, especially the light green-colored ones, as the thinness of the piece can snap off if not handled carefully.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Unique to this kit among the RG Impulse variants is a "shield-holding" hand for the right arm (as the others only have one for the left arm), likely due to it needing to hold the flip-out handles of the Beam Cannons.
  • Unlike the Sword Impulse from the same line, this Gunpla is based on its updated form in the movie, though a normal version of it may be released in the future.
  • While the Gunpla contains the Beam Javelin accessories and its storage gimmick, the weapons are not featured in the movie.
  • As the colors for the Silhouette Flyer, the Mobile Shield, and the Core Splendor are unchanged from the original Impulse, the runner that contains the pieces are separately molded.
