The Real Grade (RG) MSN-04 Sazabi is a 1/144 scale kit released in 2018.

Kit Features & Gimmicks[]

Articulation[]

  • The head can pivot, or rotate on a ball-and-socket joint.
  • The torso can tilt frontwards or backwards in an extent.
  • Shoulder joints can..
    • Slightly tilt up for upwards articulation.
    • Swing forwards for extra frontwards articulation.
  • The arms can...
    • Swing on a peg-and-socket joint.
    • Raise horizontally. (Shoulder armors' front and rear panels can pivot to avoid interference to the arms.)
  • The upper arms can rotate.
  • Arms and legs feature double-jointed elbow/knee parts.
  • The wrist joints can pivot.
  • The manipulators can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
  • The waist can rotate 360 degrees.
  • Front, side, and rear skirt armors can lift up to avoid interference with the leg articulation.

Weapons/Other Gimmicks[]

  • Sazabi can also convert into "Invoke mode".

    • Funnel storage pods can rotate vertically and horizontally.
  • Funnels can be optionally removed from the backpack's storage pods (must be opened first).
    • Funnels automatically transforms into attack mode if the muzzle is pushed forward.
      • Funnels can also mount onto display stands with 3mm posts.
  • Beam Shot Rifle's foregrip can slide back and forth.
  • Beam Sabers can be optionally removed from the forearms' wrists as handheld weapons.
  • Missiles can be optionally mounted onto the shield.
  • The Beam Tomahawk can...
    • Slide out from the shield to form an attack shield.
    • Be optionally removed from the shield as a handheld weapon.
  • Beam Tomahawk can be reconfigured into:

  • Sazabi can mount onto the Action Bases (1 and 4 recommended) via an adapter.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • For better results, some of the details are needed to be panel-lined with Gundam markers.
  • Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied decals. (Water-based topcoat is recommended due to the kit having PP parts)
    • If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the clear/translucent parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.
  • The weapon and the specialized manipulator from the Long Rifle for HGUC Moon Gundam can be used on this Gunpla.

Variants[]

Italicized items are exclusives.

Reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo. Later reprints from mid-2022 will also feature an additional Bandai Namco logo.

    • to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Char's Counterattack.

  • This Gunpla is also...
    • The first RG release to be packaged in a double size box similar to a Master Grade model.
    • The last RG release to feature the original red Bandai Logo before it was replaced with a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo.
  • To date, this Gunpla has yet to be redecoed into the "GPB Color" version of the unit from Gunpla Builders Beginning G.
