MG PF-78-1 Perfect Gundam

The Master Grade (MG) PF-78-1 Perfect Gundam is a 1/100 scale kit released in 2003.

The head can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint neck.
Shoulder joints can be slightly pulled out for 120 degrees upward articulation.

- Swing on a peg-and-socket joint.
- Raise horizontally.
The upper arms can rotate.
Elbow joints can be bent up to 120 degrees.
The manipulators...
- Can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
- Feature 3+1+1 articulation on each finger.
The ball-and-socket waist can turn 360 degrees. (The articulation can be hindered if the Perfect Gundam armor parts are mounted on)
The upper thighs can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
- Front, side, and rear skirt armors can pivot to avoid interference with the leg articulation.
The knee joints can be bent up to 100 degrees.
The ankles can tilt/pivot (in an extent) on a double-sided joint.

Any of the included weapons can be wielded by the articulated hands.
The central panel can be flipped up to reveal an inner cockpit.
Shoulder cannon can pivot up and down.
The mines (4 pieces) can be optionally removed from the shield.
The shield can store up to 3 Beam Sabers.
- Beam Saber hilts can also be optionally removed as handheld weapons.
Perfect Gundam Armor parts can be removed to reveal RX-78-2 Gundam.
- RX-78-2 Gundam's front pelvis and knee armor panels can be flipped out to reveal mounting points for the Armor pieces.
- The Beam Saber racks can be closed shut into the backpack if one wants to attach the Perfect Gundam's backpack.

For better results, some or most of the details are needed to be applied & panel-lined with Gundam Markers and/or Mr. Color paints.
- The Gundam Color for MG Perfect Gundam can be used to paint this kit. (airbrush required)
Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied stickers and marking decals and if any, painted details.

Later reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue Bandai Spirits logo. Reprints from mid-2022 onward will also feature the Bandai Namco logo.

The instructions also come with a 5-page Special Comic illustrated by the original author, Koichi Yamato (やまと虹一, Yamato Koichi) of Craft-Dan (クラフト団).
The base RX-78-2 Gundam's appearance closely resembles both the Animation model & the HGUC RX-78-2 Gundam kit.
This Gunpla is one of the few Master Grades to not include the same-scale standing figurine.
