The High Grade (HG) Gundam G40 (Industrial Design Ver.) is a 1/144 scale kit released in 2019.

Kit Features & Gimmicks[]

  • Builders can choose with either red or yellow eye stickers.

Articulation[]

  • The head can swivel/pivot/tilt on a triple-jointed neck.
  • The torso can tilt back-and-forth/sideways on a multi-jointed frame.
  • Shoulder joints can raise up for upper articulation.
  • The arms can...
    • Swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
    • Raise horizontally.
  • The upper elbows can turn.
  • The elbow joints can be bent up to 110 degrees.
  • The lower forearms can swing sideways, though the articulation is very limited.
  • The manipulators can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
  • Wrist joints can pivot.
  • The waist can rotate 360 degrees if the torso is slightly pulled up.
  • To compensate with the single-piece skirt armor, the 2-piece hip joint axis can further swing down.
  • The upper thigh joints can swing frontward/backwards on a peg, raise horizontally, and/or rotate on each piece.
    • The upper section of the thigh parts can pivot frontwards.
  • The knees are double-jointed.
  • The 2-piece lower leg can swing sideways, though the articulation is very limited.
  • Ankle joints can tilt.
  • The three-piece foot parts can pivot.
  • The backpack thrusters can pivot up and down.

Weapons/Other Gimmicks[]

  • The hands are swappable.
  • Each of the weapons can be wielded by their respective hand parts.
  • When stored, the Beam Saber racks can be flipped up.
    • Beam Saber hilts can be optionally removed from the backpack joint as handheld weapons.
  • The Beam Rifle's hilt and scope can swing left or right.
  • The Shield can...
    • Can mount onto any forearms, though the default position is on the left.
      • The Shield's grip can be flipped out.
    • Also be stored onto the backpack.
  • Gundam can mount onto any Action Bases. (Fork type adapter is needed.)

Tips & Tricks[]

  • For better results, some of the details are needed to applied/panel lined with Gundam Markers and/or Mr. Color paints.
  • Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect stickers/applied decals and if any, painted details.
