Kit Features & Gimmicks[]
Italicized lines are optional gimmicks.
- Zaku II Kai can use either A-type of B-type heads. (B-Type head is the default part.)
Articulation[]
- The head can rotate on a single ball-joint neck.
- Shoulder joints can slightly swing frontward.
- The shield/spiked shoulder armor can swivel/pivot independently from the arms.
- The arms can...
- Swing on a peg-and-socket joint.
- Raise horizontally.
- The upper arms can rotate.
- Both elbow and knee joints can only be bent up to 90 degrees.
- The manipulators can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
- The waist can only rotate in a very limited extent.
- Front and side skirt armors can slightly pivot to avoid interference with the leg articulation.
- The hip joint axis can swing forward to replicate the crash pose in the First Episode of the OVA.
- The upper thighs can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint, though the backwards articulation is limited due to the non-poseable skirt armor.
- The ankles can slightly tilt/pivot, though it was hindered by the lower leg panels.
Weapons/Other Gimmicks[]
- The left hand is swappable.
- Any of the weapons can be wielded by the right trigger hand, though the Heat Hawk needs to be properly attached.
- Ammo and/or Grenade Launcher can be optionally removed from the Machine gun.
- Heat Hawk can store onto the rear waist armor via an adapter.
- Zaku II Kai can mount onto the Action Base. (sold separately)
- Ammo packs can be optionally removed from the Zaku Machine Gun.
Tips & Tricks[]
- For better results, some details are needed to be applied with Gundam Markers or Mr. Color paints.
- Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied stickers/marking decals and if any, paint details.
- Front Skirt armor can be separated for individual articulation.
- As the mono-eye is not poseable, applying the mono-eye sticker is a one-way method, so choose wisely.
- Do not pull out the arm from the shoulder joint with excessive force, doing so would break the joint.
- If one wished to let the right hand part to wield the Heat Hawk (especially the thick part of the handle), take note that this will open a slight gap between the hand's two pieces, so it's better to use the extra right hand piece to wield the heat hawk.
- Modification on the dorsal's latch is required to fit in the extra right hand piece.
Customizing-based tips[]
- If one wished not to swap the dorsals, you must find the surplus pieces or from the System Weapon kits. The dorsals are still needed to be painted in the same green color similar to most of the Zaku Kai's body.

- High Detail Manipulator 166 can be used for this kit.
