Kit Features & Gimmicks[]
Articulation[]
- The torso can slightly tilt frontwards/backwards/sideways via a ball jointed waist.
- Shoulder joints can be tilted forward.
- The arms can...
- Swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
- Raise horizontally.
- The upper arms can rotate.
- Elbow joints can be bent up to 140 degrees.
- The manipulators can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
- The waist can rotate 360 degrees.
- Side skirt armors can pivot to avoid interference with the upper thighs' horizontal articulation.
- The hip joint axis can swing forwards or backwards on one side.
- The upper thighs can swing frontward (and backward in a limited extent) on a peg, raise horizontally and/or rotate on each piece.
- The knees are double-jointed.
- The ankles can swivel on a ball-and-socket joint.
Weapons/Other Gimmicks[]
- The hands are swappable. Only one pair is included.
- Any of the included weapons can be wielded by Leo's hands.
- Visor can be light up with a UV Light.
- Left shoulder can mount with either the normal shoulder panel or the shoulder shield.
- Beam Sabers can be optionally removed from into the shoulder shield as handheld weapons.
- Shield can be used as a handheld piece by removing it from the shoulder adapter.
- The rear body & the upper thighs' panels can be removed to reveal 3mm mounting points for customization.
- Leo can mount onto any Action Bases. (Sold separately)
Tips & Tricks[]
- For better results, some details are needed to be applied with Gundam Markers or Mr. Color paints.
- Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied stickers and if any, painted details and marking decals.
- If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the clear/translucent parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.
Customizing-based tips[]
- For better results on the Head's visor, the face's (A1) inner piece can:
- Applied with chrome paint.
- Paste the sticker by cutting it from the surplus foil sticker sheets.
- Various parts from the 1/144 Tallgeese-based (Or the Serpent's) kits can be attached on this mold. (Note: joint adapters from the HG Customize Campaign kits are required.)
- The Space Type equipments from the Space Type kit & the Flight type equipments from the Flight Unit Type kit can be used for the kit.

- Leo can be optionally repainted into East Asian Forces & Space Type colors.
Notes & Trivia[]
- This Leo is the first High Grade and the second plastic model iteration of the Mobile Suit ever released since the Limited Model kit.
- Unlike the LM kit, the HGAC stands taller than the original Gunpla, due to being molded in 1/132 scale.
- Unlike most HGUC Gunplas, the instructions mention that front skirt armor is required to be separated while assembling, as opposed of being an optional step.
- Although stock renders showed that the Leo uses the Beam Saber effect part from the SB-13 runner, the final product & photos uses the SB-6 Beam Saber runner instead.
- Ironically, the Beam Saber parts from the latter runner can be loose when attached on the hilts.
- This Gunpla is one of the few HG kits not to feature any sticker sheet.

- Reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo. Later reprints from mid-2022 will also feature an additional Bandai Namco logo.
