The High Grade Universal Century (HGUC) YMS-15 Gyan is a 1/144 Scale kit released in 1999.

Kit Features & Gimmicks[]

Articulation[]

  • The head can only rotate on a single ball-joint neck.
  • The arms can...
    • Swing on a rod joint.
    • Raise horizontally.
  • The upper elbows can turn.
  • Elbow joints can be bent up to 90 degrees.
  • The manipulators can rotate on a pin-and-socket joint.
  • The waist can only rotate in a very limited manner.
  • The hip joint axis can slightly pull down for some additional leg articulation.
  • The hips are ball-jointed.
  • The Knees are double-jointed.
  • The ankles can slightly tilt.

Weapons/Other Gimmicks[]

  • The right hand is swappable.
  • The Beam Saber can be wielded by either the normal or pose-specific right hand.
  • When mounted on the forearm, the shield can be rearranged to face forward.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • For better results, some or most of the details are needed to be applied/panel-lined with Gundam Markers and/or Mr. Color paints.
  • Topcoat (Mr. Hobby recommended) can be used to protect applied stickers and if any, marking decals and painted details.
    • If using matte/flat-finish top coat, it is advisable not to spray on the clear/translucent parts - can be done by masking or spraying top coat while the said parts are separated.

Reissues of the kit from September 2018 onward will feature a blue-colored Bandai Spirits logo. Later reprints from mid-2022 will also feature an additional Bandai Namco logo.
  • The Gunpla is also released in the US under the "Skill Level 3 Model Kits" line with a similar-but-different packaging.
